Summer Car Maintenance Tips in San Antonio

The Texas heat is no joke and at World Car Hyundai North in San Antonio, we want to give you some great tips to keep your car running in tip-top shape through the harsh summer heat. Even if you’re only driving from San Marcos to Austin for a mini vacation, we want to give you the information you need to prevent a breakdown.

Maintenance Tips

  • Replace all fluids-Transmission and brake fluid, oil
  • Keeping all parts lubricated will prevent your engine from damage and overheating
  • Check for cracks in hoses to avoid losing coolant that is pumped to your engine on hot summer days
  • Replace windshield wipers
  • Fill windshield washer fluid
  • Check/change/rotate your tires-use the penny trick to test your tread*

*Penny Trick-place a penny head first in the tread of your tire, if you can see the top of Lincoln’s head then it’s time to replace your tires. If part of Lincoln’s head is always covered by the tread, you have more than 2/32 of an inch of tread depth and don’t need new tires yet.
