Hyundai Elantra - That Part Does What?

What Part

Do you ever wonder what the parts in your Hyundai Elantra do? What is their function? How do they make up the whole of your vehicle? Let's learn about some of the parts located on the wheels of your Hyundai Elantra.

Your TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)

Tire pressure monitors use an Air Pressure Sensor (Part# H 52933 F2000) in the valve system. If the pressure falls below the recommended level, the system warns the driver. When the low tire pressure light shows up on your dash, that's the pressure sensor hard at work. When that occurs, take your vehicle to any World Car Service Department to inspect the tire and the sensor.

The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)

Helps prevent the possibility of wheel lockup under hard braking by pulsing the brakes to help you retain steering control as you come to a stop. Like any system, it's made of many parts. The ABS Speed Sensor (Part# H 59810 F3300), is responsible for relaying the wheel speed to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) so it can tell the ABS system how much pressure to apply. This sensor is typically located in each wheel hub/rotor. When the sensor fails, it is usually the result of clogging from metallic debris, brake dust, or dirt due to exposure to the elements. The failing sensor can activate the MIL or ABS warning lamp, and cause anti-lock braking system failures.
